Monogrammed set of Theodore Haviland luncheon plates, set of 12. Decorated by William Lycett, Atlanta, GA. Scalloped edge with a beautiful cursive monogram in the center of the plate. Looks like LEJ. These are 8.5" luncheon plates with a white ground. Haviland backstamp used 1893 to early 20th century.Painted porcelain wares marked with Lycett's name are present in many historic homes and collections. The William Lycett China Co. of Atlanta, GA was perhaps the most famous Decorator Studio of its day and preceded the famous Pickard Studio of Chicago by a dozen years or more. William Lycett was the son of the renown decorator Edward Lycett a famous china painter in his own right and considered to be the pioneer of china painting in America.
